Thelma Walker Webb

MRS. THELMA WALKER WEBB, age 85, Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012, in Demorest, Georgia.

Thelma was born in Wilkes County, Georgia on September 18, 1926, to the late Ernest and Cora Walker. She lived most of her life in Chamblee, before moving to Clarkesville, Georgia in 2001. Thelma married Mack C. Webb in 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack in 2003 and her sister, Dot Walker, in 2008.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Lynda Webb, Pattison, TX; son, Donnie Webb, Canton, GA; daughter, Phyllis Webb, Clarkesville, GA; three grandsons, Wendell and Carrie Webb, Winterberg, Germany, Christopher, and Kristin Webb, Palacios, TX, and Don Webb, Canton, GA; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Joshua Webb, Winterberg, Germany, Tyler, Timothy, and Rachel Webb, Palacios, TX; sisters, Helen Stephens, Maysville, GA, Betty and Gene Bustard, Greenville, SC, and Jackie and Johnny Billue, Cornelia, GA.

Thelma loved the Lord Jesus and loved teaching the Bible. She taught Bible studies at her home, at times, and taught the Bible in Sunday Schools at churches to which she belonged. Since moving to Clarkesville Thelma was a member and taught at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Demorest, GA.

The Family will receive friends at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest, GA at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 with Rev. Russ Barker and Dr. Butch Franklin officiating. Entombment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. All family and friends should meet at the church at 10:50 a.m. for the service.
