Alda Williams Moody

ALDA LATREY WILLIAMS MOODY, age 92, of Alto, Georgia, died Friday, June 26, 2009 at a private care facility. Mrs. Moody was born on February 4, 1917 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Tom and Annie Brock Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Moody, her son, Henry Eugene Moody, her grandson, James Henry Moody, a great-grandson, Zachary Ansley, as well as six brothers and one sister. Mrs. Moody was retired from Habersham Mills Corporation with 35 years of service, worked with Fieldale Farms Inc. with 5 years of service, and also Riegel Textiles (Mount Vernon Mills) with 5 years of service. She was a member of the Alto Baptist Church. Mrs. Moody was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include: her daughters: Evelyn Crocker, Alto, GA; Cora Lee Ansley, Cornelia, GA; Inis Crumley, Piedmont, SC; , Dianne Heimberger, Baldwin, GA; Wanda Dills, Alto, GA; her sons: Larry Joe Moody and Ernest Moody, both of Alto, GA; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Mickey Umbehant and Rev. Luther Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Demorest City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the South Chapel in Baldwin from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday.
