Anne Cheek Sanders

Anne Cheek Sanders, age 98, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. Mrs. Sanders was born on May 6, 1922 in Macon County, Georgia to the late Will and Jane Cheek Sorrells. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Willard B. Sanders; and grandson, Douglas B. Sanders. She attended the Hollywood Baptist Church and had been owner and operator of Willard's Gas & Grocery. She spent many years volunteering at Habersham Home and was well known in the community for her extensive philanthropic efforts. She was well loved by her family and friends. Anne Sanders never met a stranger and will be dearly missed by those fortunate enough to have been in her life. Survivors include her son, Gerald Sanders, of Panama City, FL; brothers, Jim Cheek, of Franklin, NC; Don Cheek, of Tallulah Falls, GA; three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Turnerville Church of God Cemetery with Rev. Andy Pilgrim officiating. Those in attendance are requested to wear a facial covering and practice social distancing.
