Bess Duncan Hodkinson

Bess Duncan Hodkinson, age 81, of Clarkesville, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Mrs. Hodkinson was born on March 2, 1935, in Fairburn, Georgia, to the late Comer Dewey Duncan, Sr. and Bessie Gabrels Duncan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Peter Hodkinson III; sister, Dorothy Duncan Dinstuhl; and brothers, Comer Dewey Duncan, Jr. and Robert Duncan. Mrs. Hodkinson retired from North Habersham Middle School with 19 years of loyal and dedicated service. She was a member of Grace-Calvary Episcopal Church. Survivors include her sister, Mary Duncan Gonia, Sandy Springs, GA; sister-in-law, Audrey Duncan Dixon, Clarkesville, GA; nieces: Gwen Gonia Osgood, Katheryn Dinstuhl Trombatore, and Rebecca Dinstuhl Henning; and nephews, J.D. Gonia, Jr. and Joseph L. Duncan. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Grace-Calvary Episcopal Church with Father Sam Buice officiating. A reception will be held immediately after the service at the church. Interment was held in Holy Cross Cemetery.
