Betty L. Collins Cobb, age 86, of Cleveland, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Ms. Cobb was born on January 8, 1940 in Mechanicsburg, Ohio to the late Roland and Mary Jane Tobias Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Edward Cobb; grandson, Nicholas Hethcoat; sister, Rella Cook; son-in-law, Don Crow; and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Cobb.
A true trailblazer, Betty spent 20 years as a truck driver at a time when very few women were in the profession. She often shared that she was among the first female truck drivers to travel to all 48 contiguous states, a testament to her adventurous spirit, determination, and willingness to break barriers. Betty was a woman of Christian faith, finding strength and guidance in her beliefs throughout her life. Her faith was evident in the kindness she showed to others and the compassion she extended to all of God's creatures. She had a special love for animals and could often be found caring for and feeding the local cats, never turning away a hungry or needy animal. While Betty's accomplishments were many, her greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished every moment spent with those she loved. Affectionately known as "Granny," she opened her heart not only to her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren but also to countless others who were fortunate enough to know her.
Survivors include her children, Sheryl Crow, of Dickson, TN; James "Jim" Cobb, of Dahlonega; Barbara Rogers and Joel, of Canton; Margaret "Margie" Cummings and Mark, of McMinnville, TN; Patricia Bell and William, of Cleveland; Timothy "Tim" Cobb and Amy, of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Heather, Lauren, Dustin, Wes, Jamie, Jennie, Joe, Tad, Ben, Timmy Joe, Melody, Kim, Emma, Maggie; great-grandchildren, Hank, Paisley, Logan, Gunner, Brigg, Cade, Sarah, Luke, Levi, Jacob, Abby, Mikey, Ruby, Bella, Lilly.
