Mr. Carol Everton, age 79, of Baldwin, GA, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Habersham County Medical Center. Mr. Everton was born in Habersham County, GA on May 12, 1930 to the late Otis Carol and Lillie Mae Shore Everton. He was a graduate of Baldwin School and attended Piedmont College. Mr. Everton was a member of Baldwin Baptist Church and the McDonald's Coffee Club. Mr. Everton proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Carwood - Duckhead Manufacturing - as a plant manager with 48 years of service. Survivors include his devoted wife of 54 years, Yvonne Chapman Everton, Baldwin, GA; his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Andrew Simonet, Lawrenceville, GA; his daughter Melanie Welborn, Baldwin, GA; his sister, Evelyn Brewster, Gainesville, GA; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Brenda Chapman, Toccoa, GA and Dwight and Dede Chapman, Alpharetta, GA; grandson and his wife, Nicholas and Brandy Kastner, Gainesville, GA; 2 great-granddaughters, Grace and Lorelei Kastner; mother-in-law, Carol Chapman, Alpharetta, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Terry Rice, Rev. Darvin Slaton, and Rev. Frank Sailers officiating. Interment will follow in the Baldwin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
