Charlie Glenn Unbehant

Glenn Unbehant, age 92, of Demorest, Georgia went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2026.

Mr. Unbehant was born on April 30, 1934 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Larkin Unbehant and Emma Della Pitts Unbehant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Otis Unbehant, Everett Unbehant, Gene Unbehant, Arthur Unbehant, Elmo Unbehant, and sister, Christine Elrod; and grandson Chris Unbehant.

A lifelong mechanic, Glenn discovered his passion at an early age, rebuilding his first automobile engine at just 12 years of age. He spent many years as a trusted mechanic with the Stovall Motor Company in Cornelia and then working for Demorest Auto Parts before continuing his career with the Habersham County Road Department. Glenn remained dedicated to his work until his retirement at the remarkable age of 78.

Despite his exceptional talents, Glenn was a humble and laid-back man who never sought recognition. He found genuine satisfaction in working with his hands, and for Glenn, his work was far more than a job, it was his greatest hobby and passion.

Glenn was a faithful member of Central Heights Church, where he worshipped alongside his church family for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Cantrell Unbehant; son, Alan Unbehant, of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Becky Unbehant, of Demorest; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Unbehant and Kristen Franklin and her husband, Eric; and great-granddaughter, Lily Franklin.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Pastor Wayne Fowler officiating. Interment will follow at the Baldwin City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the funeral home.
