Claude Carroll Weaver, age 90, of Toccoa, Georgia passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
Mr. Weaver was born on January 19, 1936 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Amon Young Weaver and Lillie Holbrook Weaver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mary Farmer Weaver; son, Edwin Weaver; his grandchild, Marissa Weaver; sisters, Geneva Smith, Ellen Rudeseal, Parlie Rudeseal, Stella Wall; brothers, Gordon Weaver, Billy Weaver, Walter Weaver, John Luther Weaver, Joe Weaver, Bob Weaver, and Paris Weaver.
Mr. Weaver was of the Baptist faith. He married the love of his life, Mary Farmer Weaver, and their marriage was a beautiful example of love, faithfulness, and lifelong commitment. Known affectionately as the “Walking Man,” Mr. Weaver was a familiar sight in his community, whether walking or riding his bicycle, which he continued to do until the age of 87. His determination and independent spirit were admired by those who knew him.
Perhaps one of the greatest testaments to his love and devotion was his unwavering dedication to his beloved wife. During the 18 months leading up to her passing, Mr. Weaver faithfully rode his bicycle to the nursing home every single day to visit her, missing only one week due to illness. His daily visits were a touching demonstration of the promises made in marriage, to love and cherish one another in sickness and in health.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Shelia Weaver, of Alto; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; niece and her spouse, Deborah and Roger Beam, of Mt. Airy.
