Danny Smith

DANNY SMITH, age 47, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, following a sudden illness. Mr. Smith was born in Habersham County, Georgia on December 23, 1964. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hubert and Margaret Clark and his paternal grandparents, J.C. and Gertrude Smith. Mr. Smith was of the Baptist faith. He spent most of his working career in hotel management. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Carol Clark and Jack Canupp, Gainesville, GA; his father and step-mother, Jimmy and Robin Smith, Demorest, GA; his sister, Jalene Smith, Demorest, GA; his step-sisters, Kim Colluro, Braselton, GA, and Angel Jordan, Alto, GA; his dogs, Jackson and Parker; his cat, Mr. Jones. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Providence Baptist Church, in the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, Georgia with Rev. Don Drawdy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. All friends and family should meet at the church by 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., on Friday, May 25, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
