Don L Moore

Mr. Don Moore of Cornelia, Georgia passed away peacefully after extended illness on August 16. He is the son of the late Lee Moore and Minnie Moore Tatum.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam Elizabeth Thompson Moore, brothers Earl Moore, Troy Moore and Ardell Moore as well as his parents.

Mr. Moore was retired from Habersham County School System as a Bus Driver for over 35 years. He was known in the driver community as “Mr. Clean” as he kept his bus clean at all times. He also drove for Daniels Charter Bus Company and drove up the eastern seaboard as well as trips to Washington D.C. Mr. Moore owned his own paint contracting business and beautified many homes as well as businesses in Habersham County.

Survivors include: Rhonda Smith (Chris), Clarkesville, Georgia; Carole Elrod, Port St. Lucie, Florida; Anita Tomlin (Tracy), Evans, Georgia; and Lynn Moore, Cornelia, Georgia, grandchildren include Ethan Smith (Cheri), Cody Smith (Taylor), Courtney Hopkins (Zach), David Elrod (Katie), Haleigh Jackson (Chris), Hope Kulling (Kurt), great-grandchildren include, Skylar Smith, Sage Smith, Emory Smith, Avery Smith, Annabelle Hopkins, Hallie Hopkins, Harper Jackson, Hollie Jackson, Clark Kulling and Brooks Kulling, brother, Rev. Eugene Moore, Franklin, North Carolina, sister-in-law, Sue Carnes, Mt. Airy, Georgia and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2026 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Ryan Carnes officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2026 at the funeral home.
