Donald R. Higgins

Donald R. Higgins, age 66, of Cornelia, GA, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 following an extended illness. Mr. Higgins was born on June 12, 1943 in Habersham County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents and several of his siblings. He was a retired automobile mechanic and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Higgins is survived by his five children, three brothers, one sister, and five grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2009 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the North Chapel from 3:00 to 4:45 p.m. just prior to the memorial service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that memorials be made to Regions Bank, c/o Rhonda K. Coleman, P.O. Box 428, Clarkesville, GA 30523 to help with final expenses. Arrangements are in the care of Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
