Dorene Bowen Ferguson

Dorene Bowen Ferguson, age 79, of Alto, Georgia went to her Heavenly Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Mrs. Ferguson was born on January 20, 1946 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Donnie Lee Bowen and Monteen Arflin Bowen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons-in-law, John Henry Morris and David Wood; brothers, Morgan Bowen, Billy Bowen, Donnie Bowen, Jr., Melvin Bowen; sisters, Lucille Hatfield, Ruth Hester, Orabelle Martin.

Survivors include her loving husband of 35 years, Robert Ferguson, of Alto; daughter, Tammy Wood, of Alto; grandchildren, Hallie Gilleland, of Cornelia; Nicole and Jason Bailes, of Cornelia; James Wood, of Forest Hill, CA; great-grandchildren, Brinkley Gilleland, Kaylyn Bales, Jaden Bales, Justin Bales, Dakota Wood; brother, Jerry Bowen, of Pendergrass; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the BC Grant Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the funeral home.
