Doris Elrod

DORIS ELROD, age 91 of Demorest, GA., formerly of Jefferson, GA, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010. Mrs. Elrod was born on October 4, 1918, in Roebuck, SC, to the late John T. and Bertha Mae Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frary Elrod. Mrs. Elrod was a homemaker and a member of the Jefferson First Baptist Church, Jefferson, GA. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Luther and Kathy Elrod, Mt. Aity, GA and John and Ulla Elrod, Jacksonville Beach, FL, and 4 grandchildren, Barbara, Thomas, Susan and Louis Elrod. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel, Jefferson, GA with Dr. Michael Helms officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA, Monday, February 15, 2010, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and at the Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, GA, on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour.
