Edwin Phillip Herring

Edwin Phillip Herring, age 45, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Herring was born July 9, 1970, in Demorest, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Ricky Westbrooks, parental grandfather, Hoyt Gibson, and maternal grandfather, Wilburn Herring. Mr. Herring attended Mt. Airy Baptist Church. Survivors include, his significant other, Dorothy Whitfield, Mt. Airy, GA; father, Charles Keith Herring, Sr., Toccoa, GA; mother, Janice Westbrooks, Banks County, GA; daughter, Elizabeth Rose Herring, Mt. Airy, GA; brother, Joseph Wallace Herring and his fiancé, Brandy Hargett, Mt. Airy, GA; half brother, Charles Keith Herring, Jr., Cleveland, GA; half sister, Bridgett Jones, Cleveland, GA; paternal grandmother, Winnifred Wade, Alto, GA; maternal grandmother, Irene Gibson, Mt. Airy, GA; and the mother of his daughter, Rebecca Herring, Florida. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Turpin and Rev. Butch Franklin officiating.
