Frank Lamar Hill

Frank Lamar Hill of Mount Airy, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on October 15, 2026, after a battle with cancer.

Born August 9, 1940, in Clarkesville, Georgia, to Amos Lamar and Ruth (Dover) Hill. He and his family moved to Ocean City, MD, in 1969, where he lived on the ocean and enjoyed fishing until he returned to GA in 2015.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Mae (Wheeler) Hill; brother, Roy Hill; and sister, Diane Stover.

Survivors include daughter, Benita (Don) Smith, of Ocean City, MD; son, Kevin (Mickey) Hill, of Mount Airy, GA; granddaughters, Ally and Sam Smith of Ocean City, MD; Hillary (Seth) Loree, of Hoschton, GA; Taylor (Cody) Mixon of Cleveland, GA; and 5 great-grandchildren.

The family is honoring Frank's wishes to be cremated with no formal services held. Inurnment was held at the Yonah Memorial Gardens, where he was laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Dot.
