George Marvin Jones Jr.

George Marvin Jones, Jr., age 77, of Alto, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

Mr. Jones was born on January 16, 1948, in Banks County, to the late Maggie and Marvin Jones. He was also preceded in death by his son, Eric Jones. George spent many years working for Schnadig Furniture Company. He was a simple man who enjoyed quiet evenings watching television with his beloved wife and took great pleasure in collecting model cars and jewelry.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Edna Jean Armour Jones; sons and daughter-in-law, Brian and Marlana Jones, Shane Jones; granddaughters: Maggie Jones and fiancé, Wendall, Paxton Jones, Zandrea Jones; grandsons, Kolten Jones, Ethan Jones; and great-granddaughters, Ellie-Ann Williams, Mazie Williams.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel.
