Helen P. Nawrocki

HELEN P. NAWROCKI, age 88 of Doraville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at her daughter's residence in Baldwin, Georgia, following a long battle with cancer. Born in Bayonne, New Jersey, on February 09, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Kopiezynski Przekop. Mrs. Nawrocki was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A.Nawrocki and her five sisters and one brother. Mrs. Nawrocki was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Chamblee, Georgia. After moving to Georgia in 1962, Helen became interested n gardening and was one of the original members of the Hoe 'N Hope Garden Club. She also began bowling and was active in leagues in Tucker, Doraville and Dunwoody. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Douglas McGowan, Baldwin, GA: Susan and Steve McCart, Kennesaw, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Alex and Nan Nawrocki, Jasper, GA; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Chamblee, Georgia. Father Edward Danneker will be the celebrant. There will be a reception at the church immediately following the mass. Interment will follow in the Arlington Memorial Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday two hours prior to the funeral service. Flowers may be sent to the church. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation in Helen's memory to the charity of their choice or to the American Cancer Society.
