Irene Trusty Church

IRENE TRUSTY CHURCH, age 87, of Demorest, GA passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2010 following a sudden illness. Mrs. Church was born in Clarkesville, GA on February 3, 1923, to the late General Grant and Nora Ann Wall Trusty. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph J. Church, 2 sons, John Brady Shirley and Bill Shirley, a grandson, David Ford, sisters, Inez Trusty and Gladys Culbertson, brothers Harold, Earl, Clyde, and Grant Trusty, Jr. Mrs. Church was a member of the Hills Crossing Baptist Church and currently attending New Liberty United Methodist Church. She was a dedicated full time homemaker and a volunteer with Sharing and Caring since it began. Survivors include daughters, Brenda Lunsford, Clarkesville, GA, Doris Ford, Anniston, AL, and Oleine Finley, Anniston, AL; sisters, Donna Trusty, Clarkesville, GA, and Jean Trusty Adams, Atlanta, GA; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Clarkesville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
