J.C. Franklin

MR. J. C. FRANKLIN, age 86, of Mt. Airy went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 13, 2007 after winning his battle with cancer. Mr. Franklin was born on May 23, 1921 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late John Arlin and Hattie Adams Franklin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde, Arlin and Earl Franklin and sisters, Reba Jordan and Irene Allen. Mr. Franklin was a United States Army World War II veteran and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, he was the owner of Franklin's Car Sales and was involved in the construction industry. One of his great loves was fishing in Steinhatchee, FL with his beloved wife, family and friends. Survivors include his wife: Lois Morgan Franklin, Mt. Airy, GA; his daughters: Claudia Lyle and Becky Littleton, both of Mt. Airy, GA; his sons: Bill Born, Cleveland, GA; and Truitt Franklin, Warner Robins, GA; his sister: Ada Palmer, Clarkesville, GA; his grandchildren: Marsha Burrell, Jeff Ferguson, Bryan Ferguson, David Lyle, Deborah Neilson, Blake Franklin, and Ashley Franklin; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Stephens and Rev. Jerry Mize officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday.
