Jerry Arrendale

Mr. Jerry Lee Arrendale, age 67, of Cartersville, GA formerly of Clarkesville, GA, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Emory University Hospital in Decatur following an extended illness. Mr. Arrendale was born on March 2, 1943 in Clarkesville, GA to the late Earl and Carrie Owensby Arrendale. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Phil Arrendale; a sister, Lucille Franklin; two infant brothers; and his former wife, Diane Franklin Arrendale Hall. Mr. Arrendale proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from the trucking industry with 30 plus years of service. Mr. Arrendale was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a very special person with a huge heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Jacqueline Talerico Arrendale, Cartersville, GA; his daughters and sons-in-law, Stacy and Sonny Collier, Fayetteville, GA, Cheryl and Andrew Black, Cartersville, GA, and Dawn and Dennis McPherson, Cartersville, GA; his sons and daughters-in-law, Shane and Connie Arrendale, Conyers, GA and Tony and Kimberly Bruley, Rydal, GA; his sisters, Evelyn Shirley, Clarkesville, GA, Martha Welch, Mountain City, GA, and Susan Welborn, Bonita Springs, FL; his grandchildren, Ashley Hunter, Adam Collier, Caleb Collier, Hannah Collier, Johnathan Burnett, Amber Burnett, Jessica Black, Sara Black, Bryan Crain, Katlyn McPherson, Destiny Bruley, Jennifer Bruley and Hannah Bruley; and his great-grandchildren, K.K. and J.J. Burnett. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church with the Rev. David Nix, Rev. Austin Kelley, and Rev. Shane Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
