Jimmy Lynn "Jim" Holmes

JIMMY LYNN "JIM" HOLMES, age 76, of Demorest, Georgia formerly of Los Angeles, California passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013. Jim was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on March 2, 1936, to the late Lynn H. and Verna B. Watson Holmes. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in the Vietnam Conflict. Jim was an electronic missile repairman. Survivors include daughters, Evelyn Gould, Fairfield, CA, Barbara Washick, Fairview Heights, IL, and Lynn Holmes, FL; brothers, Dale Holmes, Jacksonville, FL and Ernest Holmes, Demorest, GA; and five grandchildren. Jim wished to be remembered as he was known to others. A private service will be held following his cremation. He will be honored, Native American Style. Jim had a great sense of humor and was a fierce friend. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him and loved him. Arrangements are in the care of Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
