Joann Erwin Gerrin

JOANN ERWIN GERRIN, age 72, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at her residence. Mrs. Gerrin was born on July 21, 1939, in Habersham County, Georgia, to the late Lewis and Norena Gulley Erwin. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Junior Erwin. Mrs. Gerrin retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier with 15 years of service. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Toccoa, Georgia. Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Barney Gerrin, Clarkesville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Eddie Holbrooks, Gainesville, GA, Betty and Brent Harper, Gainesville, GA, and Jennifer and Randy Taylor, Clarkesville, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Tammie Gerrin, Clarkesville, GA, Jerry and Sherri Gerrin, Clarkesville, GA, and Chris and Carol Gerrin, Savannah, GA; sisters, Mary Waldrip, Lawrenceville, GA, Ruth Banks, Clarkesville, GA, and Jean Gailey, Baldwin, GA; brothers, Jimmy Erwin and Randy Erwin, both of Clarkesville, GA; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Chad Shook and Rev. Johnny Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the Mud Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012, at the funeral home.
