John D. Hulsey

John D. Hulsey, age 73, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019. Mr. Hulsey was born on Saturday, October 13, 1945 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late John Edward Hulsey and Julie Ann Virginia Masters Hulsey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Ernest and Nellie Mae Masters. Mr. Hulsey was a retired US Navy Veteran having served a total of 24 years including time in Vietnam. He was a Life Member of the Grant Reeves V.F.W. Post 7720 in Cornelia. Mr. Hulsey was also a retired security guard from EKG Security having 17 years of service. He was of the Pentecostal Faith. Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Ruth Taylor Hulsey, of Alto; step-daughter, Rhonda Pardue, of Commerce; step-son, Randy Galloway, of Cleveland; brothers, Phillip Carter, of Cleveland, Gary Carter, of Cumming, Richard Carter, of Atlanta; several step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. Graveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2019 at the VFW Memorial Park in Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Trudy Galloway and Colonel Richard White officiating and military honors to be provided by the United States Navy, the Grant Reeves V.F.W. Post 7720, American Legion Post # 84, and the Rabun DAV #15. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday March 3, 2019 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel in Baldwin, Georgia. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are in care of Whitfield Funeral Home & Crematory, South Chapel, 1370 Industrial Boulevard, Baldwin, Georgia 30531
