Joseph Gordon Crumley

Joseph Gordon "Joe" Crumley, HMC, US NAVY, age 94, of Lakemont, Georgia went to sleep on Saturday, December 27, 2025 and is awaiting the resurrection.

Mr. Crumley was born on December 15, 1931 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Lloyd and Virginia Ramey Crumley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William "Bill" David Crumley.

Joe proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retiring after 20 years of honorable service from 1951 to 1971. During his distinguished career, he served as a Hospital Medical Corpsman and attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer, a role that reflected his dedication, skill, and leadership in caring for others. Joe was a faithful member of the United Church of God Worldwide Association. Joe had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He especially loved hunting, with a particular passion for bird hunting, alongside the many bird dogs he owned throughout the years. He found great enjoyment and peace in fishing. Known as a hard worker, Joe also took pride in gardening and cutting wood. Above all else, Joe’s greatest joy was his family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather, affectionately known to his grandchildren as “Grand-Pa.”

Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Betty "June" Long Crumley, of Lakemont; son and daughter-in-law, David and Cheryl Crumley, of Lakemont; daughter and son-in-law, Hope and David Murray, of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth "Ken" and Angela Crumley, of Cedartown; six grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Crumley's wishes were to be cremated with no services held. Inurnment will be held at the Crumley Family Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request a good deed be done in Joe's memory.
