Lawrence Cooper Kirkland

LAWRENCE COOPER KIRKLAND, age 65, of Cornelia, GA passed away on October 7, 2009 following an extended illness. Born in Hillsborough Co, Florida on December 16, 1943, he was the son of the late William Campbell and Virginia Cooper Kirkland. Mr. Kirkland was preceded in death by his wife, Joanna Gamber Kirkland and his brother, Edward Greene Kirkland. He was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church, Miami, Florida and a United States Navy veteran having served as a navigator on the U.S.S. Sam Houston. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Stan Lovell, Mt. Airy, GA, Kerrie and Scott Jones, Cumming, GA; sister, Judy Martin, Bremen, GA; sister-in-law, Deena Mullininx, Miami, FL; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Nicholas Smith and Brooke Lovell. A Celebration of Life will be held at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA on Sunday, October 11, 2009, from 2 - 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lawrence C.
