Linda Beck Shedd

Linda Beck Shedd, age 77, of Demorest, Georgia formerly of Bogart, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 with members of her family by her side, following a brief illness.

Mrs. Shedd was born on May 1, 1948 in Clarke County, Georgia to the late Roy Lee and Ruville Patterson Beck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Shedd; as well as her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy Lee Shedd and Ruth Viola York Shedd.

She had retired from the University of Georgia. For the past several years, she had spent time ministering and be-friending her fellow residents of Magnolia Hills in Demorest. Linda was as sweet a person as you could ever meet, and always had the welfare of others on her mind, and in her heart. She was a favorite to all the residents of Magnolia Hills, and was good at playing "Ole Mother Hen" to all she met. She frequently used "darling" (in her best southern accent) to address those she loved and those that cared for her. She was an avid lover of birds and surrounding nature, and was mindful of her faith. She participated regularly in the worship opportunities in her retirement living situation. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her family.

Survivors include her sister, Sandy Beck, of Athens; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bryant Shedd and Polly, of Cornelia; Carolyn Shedd Quist, of Cornelia; Larry Shedd and Karen, of Clarkesville; Ron Shedd and Courtney, of Rome; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation to celebrate her life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel. A Private Family Burial will be held at the Demorest City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Hwy 441, Demorest, Georgia.
