Marianne Smith Free

MARIANNE SMITH FREE, age 73, of Council Grove, Kansas and formerly of Cornelia, GA passed away, March 12, 2010. Mrs. Free was born on October 11, 1936, daughter of the late Richard Gordon and Roma Roberts Smith. She was widow of John C. Free. She was reared up in Council Grove, Kansas and attended school there. Mrs. Free spent most of her life in Cornelia, GA area. She was a homemaker and retired employee of Scovill Manufacturing with 20 years of service. Mrs. Free was a member of Northside Baptist Church and a former member of the Grant Reeves V.F.W. Post # 7720 auxillary. She is survived by her sisters, Martha Layton and Alice Adams of Council Grove, Kansas also survived by nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 1, 2010, at V.F.W. Memorial Park with Rev. Paris Whitworth and Rev. Thomas Gragg officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
