Mark Timothy Stephens

Mark Timothy Stephens, age 65, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

Mr. Stephens was born October 23, 1960 in Stephens County, Georgia to the late Jackson Lee "Jack" Stephens and Jessie Tidwell Stephens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Stephens; brothers, Jack Stephens, Danny Stephens, David Stephens, and Roger Stephens.

Mark was a hard-working and talented man whose life was defined by his generosity, craftsmanship, and love for others. A man who could build, repair, and create just about anything, Mark was extremely crafty and spent many years working as a carpenter. He took pride in his work and found satisfaction in using his hands to make things better. Mark had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing and spending time outside, where he could relax and enjoy the simple things in life. He was of the Baptist faith and held close the values of kindness, service, and caring for others. Those who knew Mark will remember him as a great man with a good and giving heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, especially to his neighbors and those who needed him. His willingness to help others was simply a part of who he was, and his kindness left a lasting impression on the lives of many.

Above all, Mark cherished his family. He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted father and brother, and as a loving Papa to his grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and Dennis Dodd, of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Courtney and Coral Banfield and Connor Dodd; sister, Gail Kastner, of Demorest; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
