Mary Chapman Turner

MARY CHAPMAN TURNER, age 90, of Homer, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014. Mrs. Turner was born on July 28, 1923 in Homer, Georgia; daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel Parson Chapman. She was the widow of Ralph Turner and was also preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Reid and Polly Tench; brother, Rozzie Chapman; and great grandson, Andrew Funk. Mrs. Turner was retired from Habersham Mills with several years of service. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and James Funk, Homer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Willoree and Odell Nix, Mt. Airy, Helen (Teddy) and Barry Taylor, Cornelia; brother and sister-in-law, Garnett and Alice Chapman, Alto; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Bob Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in Banks County Memorial Gardens. Due to the weather visitation will be canceled from 6-8 on January 28, 2014.
