MARY MAGDELENE LEWALLEN BROWN, age 87, of Homer, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Mrs. Brown was born on April 18, 1927 in Banks County, Georgia; daughter of the late Floyd and Nora Lawrence Lewallen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Noah Richmond Brown; son, Jacky N. Brown; daughter, Linda Brown; sisters, Velma Stewart, Roberta Glozier; brothers, Talmadge Lewallen and Billy Lewallen. Mrs. Brown was the co-owner of Brown's Shoe Shop in Cornelia, prior she was employed at Carwood Manufacturing Company and Banks County Elementary School working in the cafeteria. She was a member of Habersham Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Maxine Brown and Don Lord, Commerce, Peggy Brown and Arthur Howard, Homer; sister, Averene Rigsby, Merryville, LA; brothers, Woodrow Lewallen, Homer, Regis Lewallen, Baldwin, Edward Lewallen, Shady Dale; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., on Friday, July 11, 2014, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Arthur Howard, Minister and Rev. Christopher Porter officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014.
