Rayford Monroe Fry

RAYFORD FRY, age 69, of Mt. Airy, GA, died Tuesday, March 02, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Fry was born on December 8, 1940 in Clarkesville, Georgia to the late Alvin Hillard Fry and Bernice Savage Fry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Gragg and Ruby Hester, a granddaughter, Bobbie Jo Kelley, and two grandsons, T.R. and Alvin Fry. Mr. Fry was a sawmiller for over 50 years, and before retirement worked at Habersham Mills for 9 years. He was a member of Old Nacoochee Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Franklin Fry, Mt. Airy, GA; his daughters and sons-in-law: Cynthia and Rev. Austin Kelley, Clarkesville, GA, and Kim and Dennis Geisecke, Clarkesville, GA; his son and daughter-in-law: Danny and Tammy Fry, Clarkesville, GA; 2 Sisters: Joan Elrod, Demorest, GA, and Joyce Adams, Turnerville, GA; 3 brothers: Reynolds, Richard and James Fry, all of Clarkesville, GA. 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Austin Kelley and Rev. Kenneth Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Nacoochee Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bill Trotter officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the South Chapel from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
