Richard Allen James

Richard Allen James, 63, of Mt. Airy, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Mr. James was born on December 6, 1961 in Virginia to the late Paul and Jeanette James. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Wayne James; and Dennis James.

Richard was a United States Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army for four years. Beyond his service, Richard will be remembered most for the way he treated others. He had the ability to truly see the best in people. Richard had a way of making everyone around him feel seen, valued, and cared for. Above all else, Richard was a devoted and loving father. His children were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them, and his guidance and love will remain with them always.

Survivors include his sons, Bradley James, of Mt. Airy; Corey James, of Virginia; step-son, Tyler Ayers, of Flowery Branch; sisters, Bonnie Covington, of Virginia; Carolyn James, of Virginia; nephew, Ray Pavey, Jr.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025 at The Torch in Demorest.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2025 at the church prior to the service.
