Ronnie Lee Long

Ronnie Lee Long, age 72, of Cornelia, Georgia entered into rest on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

Mr. Long was born on September 2, 1953 in Stephens County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, C.R. Long; and brother, Larry Long. An avid fisherman, Ronnie especially loved bass fishing. He was a natural storyteller who loved to share memories, laugh, and connect with people, a gift that helped him make friends wherever he went. Ronnie was well known throughout the community and truly a friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed cooking and took great pleasure in sharing meals with family and friends, finding joy in bringing people together. Ronnie was a United States Veteran, having served in the US Air Force. He worked for many years at Bi-Lo and later retired from Walgreens in Cornelia. Above all else, Ronnie’s family was the center of his life. He was a loving husband, father and a devoted grandfather, treasured deeply by his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Poppy.”

Ronnie Long will be deeply missed, but his legacy of friendship, laughter, and love will be remembered always.

Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Cathy Long, of Cornelia; mother, Faye Wright, of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Andy Alexander, of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Amy Adams and Malcolm Myers, of Commerce; grandchildren, Koen Alexander, Deklan Alexander, Addison Myers, and Wyatt Myers; and mother-in-law, Beatrice "Bea" Fitzpatrick, of Cornelia.

A Celebration of Life will be announced.
