Tony Bryson Addis, age 66, of Demorest, Georgia went to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
Mr. Addis was born on April 25, 1960 in Habersham County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rena Mae Addis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rex and Mildred Grogan; aunt, Helen Chitwood.
Tony proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, where he was stationed in Japan before being honorably discharged. He carried the values of the Marines with him throughout his life and often reminded those around him, "Once a Marine, always a Marine," proudly followed by, "Semper Fi." His dedication, discipline, and unwavering loyalty were evident in everything he did. After his military service, Tony returned home to Habersham County, where he built a life centered around faith, family, and hard work. Tony was an exceptional carpenter who built a respected career with his skilled hands and remarkable craftsmanship. A gifted woodworker and cabinet maker, he could create just about anything from a piece of wood. His work was admired by many, but to those who knew him would laugh and say, "Completion time was all up to him!"
To many, Tony was affectionately known as "Mr. Bobcat." To know Tony was to love him. It would be hard to find anyone who didn't. His kind heart, infectious smile, quick wit, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Above all else, Tony's greatest joy was his family. He loved deeply and unconditionally, especially his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life. To them, and to many other children fortunate enough to know him, he was lovingly known as "Peepaw."
Survivors include his loving wife, Joanne Grogan Addis, of Clarkesville; father, Jimmy "Bud" Addis, of Demorest; son, Toby Addis, of Baxley; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie Addis and Ashton Wilson, of Rabun County; grandchildren, Rena Blythe Wilson, and Jimah Wilson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
