William "Billy" Ivie

William H. "Billy" Ivie, age 66, of Clayton, GA, and formerly of Cornelia, GA, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at a local hospital following a sudden illness. Mr. Ivie was born on October 19, 1943 in Clarkesville, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Lee Ivie, his brothers, Michael L., Sr. "Mickey" Ivie, Robert E. "Bobby" Ivie, and Mark D. Ivie. Mr. Ivie was of the Methodist Faith and was a craftsman and artist. Survivors include: his mother: Frances Ivie Blackburn, Mt. Airy, GA; his daughters: Dana Adams, Cornelia, GA; Dina Ivie, Clarkesville, GA; his sons: William H. Jr., "Hank" Ivie, Shelbyville, KY; Robert F. "Robin" Ivie, Alto, GA; his sister: Mary Pless, Cornelia, GA; 3 grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Shannon Irvin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour on Saturday. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Cornelia United Methodist Church, 275 Wyly Street, Cornelia, GA 30531.
