Yaretzi Adelaida Romero Cantu Torres, age 15, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Yaretzi was born on October 27, 2010 in Hall County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her cousin, Cristian Gaona.

Yaretzi was a bright, outgoing young woman whose personality could light up any room. Her family describes her as funny, fearless, and never shy. She loved to dance and was often the life of the party. She had a natural ability to make people smile and brought an energy and joy wherever she went.

A sophomore at Habersham Central High School and a member of the Class of 2029, Yaretzi was known and loved by many of her classmates and friends. Soccer was her passion. She proudly played on the Habersham Central varsity soccer team and also played with LSA in Gainesville. Whether on the field or surrounded by friends, Yaretzi gave her all to the things and people she loved.

Perhaps what stood out most about Yaretzi was her heart. She genuinely cared about others and had a way of making people feel welcomed and loved. She had so many friends, each with their own special memories of her laughter, her sense of humor, her dancing, and the joy she brought into their lives.

Yaretzi made an extraordinary impact in the 15 years she was given. She will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, her classmates, her teammates, and all who loved her. Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched and the many moments of happiness she shared with those around her.

Survivors include her mother and father, Claudia and Scott Torres, of Cornelia; father, Miguel Romero, of Cornelia; her siblings, Darla Torres, Scotty Torres, Riley Torres; grandparents, Martin and Tricia Torres; Miguel and Claudia Cantu; Candelaria and Jesus Romero. uncles, Cory Torres; Jesus Romero; aunts, Karen Saucedo, Rebeca Cantu, Alexa Cantu, Jennifer Cantu, Laura Romero, and Sara Romero.
