Dwayne B. Ramey

DWAYNE B. RAMEY, age 61, of Cornelia, GA formerly of Clarkesville, GA passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010, following an earlier automobile accident. Mr. Ramey was born on January 18, 1949 in Clarkesville, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Crane Ramey, 2 brothers, Bobby Charles Ramey, and Homer Keith Ramey. Mr. Ramey was of the Baptist faith. He served in the U.S. Army as a Squad Leader during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Ramey was disabled. Survivors include wife, Deborah A. Ramey, Cornelia, GA; father, James C. Ramey, Cornelia, GA; step-son, Richard Pierce, Toccoa, GA; step-son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Christy Oliver, Alto, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Regina and Bill King, Stockbridge, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Virginia Ramey, Toccoa, GA; brothers, Jerry Ramey, Alto, GA, Steve Ramey, Baldwin, GA; 2 step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, GA with Rev. Vernon Dorminey officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Grant Reeves VFW Post # 7720, the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15 and the Habersham County American Legion Post # 84. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
